Amdas Christmas Jumper Day

On the 15th of December 2017, Team Amdas got together in an attempt to raise money for Save the Children.

We signed up for this 3 weeks before via the Save the Children Website

While we were unsure of what to expect, the site assured us that we would receive a pack ASAP.

The pack arrived on Monday the 11th of December 2017 and contained heaps of useful ideas for making the day fun and interactive. Furthermore, there was an option to set up a ‘text to donate’ number specific to our team which could be shared on social media.

In addition to useful ideas and information, there were fun activity posters such as ‘Guess the hidden Carol’ sweepstakes and there were also jobs to allocate. We had a team of 5 and therefore were given 5 jobs to split between the team. These jobs were 1. Chief Jumper office – responsible for collecting donations and contributions and making sure that everybody wore their jumpers. 2. Senior treat maker – responsible for bringing and selling baked goods to raise money. 3. Sparkle Stylist – responsible for jazzing up those who were making their own Christmas jumpers. 4. Jumperographer – responsible for photographing the day’s festivities. 5. Merry Maker – this role was basically acting as DJ and keeping spirits high.

So, our 3 directors were allocated the following roles:

Dan – Senior Treat Maker

Mark – Merry Maker

Alex – Chief Jumper Officer

Dan ensured that we were kept well stocked with mince pies and rhubarb tart, while Mark took control of the radio. He kept those Christmas hits coming. Meanwhile, Alex oversaw the collection of monies.

A selection of Christmas Jumpers, T-Shirts and some improvisations

Karen was our Jumperographer. As you can see, we all enjoyed posing around the Christmas Tree. You will also notice that Dan (pictured wearing a Santa Hat) accidentally forgot to wear his jumper and had to opt for a slightly different Christmas garment.

We will soon be counting up to see how much we raised. Watch this space.
